RATES & POLICIES

Fees

 

$100 Annual Registration Fee billed upon scheduling 1st lesson. Half is applied to your first monthly invoice.

30 minute lessons = $40 each

45 minute lesson = $55 each

60 minute lesson = $70 each

 

Studio Policies

Payment is due on the 1st of each month. Invoices will be sent 7 days prior to the 1st of the month. If it is not paid by the 1st, a $35 late fee will be applied to your account. Please communicate with me before the 1st if there is a problem with your payment.

You will receive in advance, a calendar indicating the weeks of lessons, dates of recitals, and off weeks for each semester.

Thank you for understanding that I am a performing musician / travel teacher; I will give you as much notice as possible for those conflicting dates and those dates will be pro-rated out of the monthly lesson rate.

Cancellation Policy

  • If you need to cancel a lesson, please let me know at least 24 hours in advance.

  • Lessons cancelled with a 24 hour notice will be given a make up credit.

  • If a lesson is cancelled under 24 hours, that lesson fee will be forfeited.

  • In the case of illness, please contact me as soon as possible. This lesson will be either done virtually or offered a make up credit.

  • Inclement weather days observed by DPS (Denver Public Schools) will be done virtually.

Make Ups

Make up lessons are granted when a student has given a 24 hour notice to cancel a lesson or has cancelled due to illness. Make-ups will be credited to your online account. It is the responsibility of the student/parents to schedule any make up lessons through the online portal accessible through my website. Make ups must be made within the same semester otherwise they are forfeited.

Termination of Lessons

All students commit to reserve a time slot for the semester. A 30-day notice must be given to terminate lessons. If you do not attend lessons during this time, your lesson fee will not be refunded. Students who choose to take a break for summer or for any other reason will lose their spot and will be added to the waiting list.   

Photo Release

Marnie Ward Voice & Ukulele Studio has my permission to use my or my child’s photograph publicly to promote the studio. I understand that the images may be used in print publications, online publications, presentations, websites, and social media. I also understand that no royalty, fee or other compensation shall become payable to me by reason of such use.

     

Tuition Agreement

I have read the Marnie Ward Voice & Ukulele Studio tuition, payment, and termination information and agree to remit total tuition due even if I withdraw from lessons before the conclusion of the indicated time period.

Policy Agreement

I have read the Marnie Ward Voice & Ukulele Studio Private Lesson Policies and guidelines and agree to all terms and conditions, including lesson scheduling and attendance.

COVID-19 POLICIES

In-Person Lessons

In-person lessons will resume at my home studio based on guidance from the National Association of Teaching Singing (NATS) and research in the collaborative music studies from the University of Colorado, Colorado State, and University of Maryland.

***For those who are unable to be vaccinated, you must wear a mask.

*** If you are vaccinated, you have the option to wear a mask or not.

Mitigation efforts I have taken in my home studio include:

  • student self-screening for symptoms prior to lesson

  • cleaning all common surfaces after each student with alcohol based, anti-bacterial/microbial cleaner

  • hand sanitizer available

  • providing specializing singing masks to all students

  • ability to open 3 doors with cross ventilation

  • maintain a 6 foot distance between myself and the student during the lesson

  • air purifier with HEPA filter in the teaching space with 5 air exchanges per hour

  • HEPA filter installed in home HVAC system

 

Virtual Lessons

I've got students across the country and would love to welcome you virtually. Virtual lessons are a great option if you're feeling under the weather but still able to participate in your lesson or if you're not feeling up to driving across town. ***A virtual lesson will be utilized in the event of in climate weather so the "lesson can go on!"***

Illness
If for any reason you are not feeling well, please do not come to an in-person lesson. We can do your lesson virtually or if you’re not feeling up to it, let’s reschedule.


Symptoms of COVID-19 include: fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or running now, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea. If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, please do not come to an in-person lesson. This protocol will also help us get through the cold/flu season in a healthier manner.

 

Medical Updates

The Marnie Ward Voice & Ukulele Studio reserves the right to change in-person lesson parameters (including moving all students to a virtual format) for vaccinated and unvaccinated students with short notice depending on local transmission rates and recommendations from NATS and the CDC. I'm also following guidance from Denver Public Schools regarding their policies around in-person classes and masking requirements.

Release of Liability

I hereby release Marnie Ward Voice & Ukulele Studio (MWS), it’s members, agents, volunteers and Marnie Ward of all liability. by signing this release, I understand that I am absolving and releasing others from liability from their own negligent acts, even if I am not at fault in any way. In consideration of my/my child’s participation in classes or other activities at or associated with MWS, I agree to assume full responsibility for them, their heirs, executors, and administrators, waive and relate and forever discharge any and all rights and claims for damages which they may have or which occur to them, for all damages which may be sustained and suffered by them in connection with their association with or entry into studio activities or which may arise out of their participation in these activities. I expressly assume all of the risks inherent in these activities.

Marnie Ward Voice & Ukulele Studio reserves the right to update or modify this Policy at any time and without prior notice. Any updated versions will be provided to all current students. Your continued use of this studio following any such changes constitutes your agreement with all posted policy updates, and you will be subject to the associated revised terms.
